Polaris Realty Canada Limited is proud to announce that 999 West Hastings Street in Vancouver British Columbia has been certified a Zerowaste facility. As of June 1^st 2011 we divert 100% of the building’s waste from the landfill.

Along with paper, cardboard, bottles and cans we also collect all organic food waste from all tenants and wet paper towel from the washrooms for composting. Other non-recyclable items, such as plastic coffee cup lids are sent to a local “waste to energy” facility and used as fuel to make steam for the neighbouring paper plant.

All metal, batteries, fluorescent lamps and old paints and other construction materials are collected by certified personnel for proper disposal.
